Wurstbowl

It’s the rivalry that brings out the wurst in us….see what I did there? Every year the New Braunfels High School Unicorns face off with the Canyon High School Cougars to see who is the best of the wurst in high school football. Be there to cheer on your team!  When: Friday, September 21, 2018  Time: 7:30 p.m. Where: Cougar Stadium, 1510 N Interstate 35 Frontage Rd, New Braunfels, TX 78130.                                                     *Comal ISD will run a shuttle service between Freiheit Elementary School and Canyon High School from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Pick up will be at Freiheit Elementary with passengers drop off at Canyon High School.

 

Steve Wariner at Blue Bonnet Palace

Some fools never learn not to miss Steve Wariner when he comes to town. Wariner dominated the country music charts in the 90s and packs the house when he played around New Braunfels. New Braunfels Farmers Market

The New Braunels Farmers Market is held every Saturday morning in downtown New Braunfels, Vendors include local farmers and food vendors selling everything from fresh veggies to gourmet tamales to local organic honey. It’s also the place to dance to live music, find unique local wares, get a taste of local culture and score the best granolas, salsas, olive oils, beef, pork, poultry, pastries and plants…oh my! When: Every Saturday Morning Where: 186 S. Castell Ave. Time: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  *bring cash and a reusable shopping bag(s)

Fall Parade of Homes

Come rain or shine, this is the last weekend to attend the Greater New Braunfels Home Builders Association Parade of Homes! This is the perfect opportunity to see homes you wouldn’t normally get to see. Learn about the top New Braunfels Home Builders and experience the best that Comal County has to offer. Tickets are good for both days this weekend, so make a weekend of it and fill your Pinterest board with great ideas for next build or remodel. 10th Annual San Antonio Area Vintage Guitar & Insrument Show

As you know, New Braunfels is home to some of the best musicians in Texas, so it’s no surprise The 10th Annual San Antonio Area Vintage Guitar & Instrument Show would be held in New Braunfels. And, I have to tell you, the mere fact that vintage and guitar are in the title means this event has my support. Buy, Sell and Trade your guitars and other stringed instruments. Admission is only $10. Who knows, you may find yourself playing Gruene Hall one day! When: September 21-22, 2018 Where: New Braunfels Convention Center 375 S. The Derailers at River Road Ice House

Here I am recommending live music again, but I have to tell you, I LOVE The Derailers. The first time I hear “All the Rage in Paris,” I was hooked. Imagine if Buck Owens had a child with The Beatles, Roy Orbison and The Beach Boys…that’s The Derailers musical style. I’m ready for the honky tonk! September Dachshund Races at Krause’s Cafe

Beer, Sausage, Weiner Dogs, Sunday….it just kind of goes together, right? Don’t miss the Dachshund Races at Krause’s Cafe this Sunday at 4:00 p.m.  Krause’s most popular event is free for all ages. Register for Krause’s Cafe Dachshund Races
